Arrival & Welcome in Puerto Maldonado
Your Tambopata Jungle 4 Days adventure begins with a warm welcome at the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal, followed by transfer to our office for registration and a short briefing about your Amazon experience.
For greater comfort, you may safely store unnecessary luggage before entering the rainforest.
If time allows, we make a short introductory stop in Puerto Maldonado and at a scenic viewpoint before continuing toward the river.
River Journey to the Eco-Lodge
We board a motorized boat and navigate along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 40 minutes toward our eco-lodge.
During the river journey, keep watch for tropical birds and other wildlife along the forested riverbanks.
Upon arrival, you will receive a refreshing tropical fruit drink before checking into your private room.
Canopy Walk Experience
Your first rainforest activity begins with a guided jungle walk toward a suspension bridge located above the forest floor.
From the canopy level, enjoy a different perspective of the Amazon while your guide explains the vegetation, wildlife and ecological importance of the rainforest canopy.
Amazon Zipline Adventure
After a safety briefing, continue with an exciting zipline experience through the forest canopy.

Breakfast in the Rainforest
Begin the day with breakfast at the lodge before preparing for one of the most important nature experiences of the tour.
Transfer to Sandoval Lake
We travel by motorized boat toward the entrance to Sandoval Lake, located within the Tambopata National Reserve.
Guided Rainforest Hike
From the control area, we begin a guided walk of approximately 3 km through tropical forest trails.
Along the route, your guide will explain Amazonian plants, insects and wildlife while helping you search for monkeys, tropical birds, reptiles and other rainforest species.
Sandoval Lake Exploration
Upon reaching the lake, we board a paddle boat and quietly explore the calm waters of this remarkable Amazon ecosystem.
Possible wildlife sightings include hoatzins, herons, monkeys, caimans and many other tropical species.
Sandoval Lake is also important habitat for giant river otters, although all wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Return to the Lodge
After enjoying the lake and surrounding rainforest, we return to the lodge in the afternoon.

Enjoy dinner and your second night surrounded by the natural sounds of the rainforest.

After breakfast, we visit a local Amazon family to learn about traditional life in the rainforest.

Traditional Fishing Experience
In the afternoon, we participate in a traditional fishing experience in small jungle streams or local fishing areas.

Return to the Lodge

The final day begins very early, at approximately 4:30 a.m., with a boat journey along the Madre de Dios River toward La Cachuela parrot clay lick.
During the journey, enjoy the Amazon sunrise and the increased bird activity that often occurs during the early morning.

From an appropriate observation point, we wait quietly for parrots, parakeets and occasionally smaller macaws that may gather along the mineral-rich clay bank.

Natural Amazon Conditions
Tambopata is a tropical rainforest where rain, humidity and changing river conditions are normal.
The timing or order of canopy, zipline, kayaking, river excursions, Sandoval Lake, cultural activities, fishing, clay lick observation and night excursions may be adjusted when weather, river or safety conditions require operational changes.
Wildlife sightings, bird activity at La Cachuela and clear weather cannot be guaranteed.
Rain, cloud cover or limited wildlife sightings do not automatically qualify for a refund when the overall tour remains operational.
An exceptional safety restriction, official access closure, extreme river condition or situation that makes an activity impossible to operate may affect the service.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Because lodge accommodation, transportation and Amazon services are reserved in advance, the following conditions apply.
More Than 7 Days Before Departure
A partial refund may be available when cancellation is requested more than 7 days before departure.
Lodge reservations, transportation, entrance fees, transaction charges and any services already purchased, confirmed or considered non-refundable will be deducted from the refundable amount.
7 Days or Less Before Departure
Cancellations made 7 days or less before departure are non-refundable because the principal accommodation, transportation and operational services will already have been coordinated.
Coverage for medical emergencies, cancellations, trip interruption, lost luggage and unexpected travel changes is advisable for an Amazon journey.
