Hotel Pickup in Cusco
Your Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain Tour begins with early hotel pickup in Cusco between approximately 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.. After meeting your guide, we begin the journey south of Cusco, traveling through Andean valleys, traditional farming communities and increasingly remote high-mountain landscapes.
Breakfast Stop in Cusipata
After approximately two hours of travel, we stop in Cusipata to enjoy breakfast. This stop allows you to rest, use the facilities and prepare for the high-altitude hike before continuing toward Pallay Punchu.
Scenic Drive to Pallay Punchu
After breakfast, we continue toward the Pallay Punchu Mountain area through remote Andean landscapes, mountain passes, lagoons and rural communities. The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as we approach the trailhead, with open highland landscapes and opportunities to see alpacas and llamas along the route. Upon arrival, your professional guide will provide information about the trail, altitude and safety recommendations before beginning the hike.
Hike to Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain
The hike to the main viewpoint takes approximately 40 to 60 minutes, depending on your walking pace and acclimatization. During the ascent, you will gradually discover the characteristic sharp ridges and colorful mineral formations that make Pallay Punchu Rainbow Mountain one of the most unusual landscapes in the Cusco region. The combination of red, ochre, green and other natural tones across the mountain creates patterns often compared with a traditional decorated Andean poncho.
Pallay Punchu Viewpoint
At the main viewpoint, you will have time to rest, enjoy the landscape and take photographs of the colorful mountain formations. The surrounding scenery includes high-Andean valleys, mountain ranges and nearby lagoons, creating a very different experience from the classic Vinicunca route.

After completing the visit, we begin the return walk to the trailhead, where our tourist transportation will be waiting. We then travel back toward Cusipata for a well-deserved buffet lunch.
Return to Cusco
After lunch, we begin the final journey back to Cusco. Arrival is expected between approximately 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on traffic, road conditions, weather and the pace of the group.

The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the tour begins and can be paid in cash at our Cusco office or through our secure Izipay payment link, sent by WhatsApp or email.
A separate 7% processing fee applies to each amount paid through Izipay. This fee does not apply to cash payments at our office.

The tour continues according to the scheduled itinerary whenever the access route remains open and the service can be operated safely.
Clear views of Pallay Punchu, the surrounding mountains, or nearby lagoons cannot be guaranteed.
Reduced visibility due to clouds, fog, rain, or light snowfall does not by itself qualify for a refund, rescheduling, or alternative tour when the route remains safely operable.
Only an exceptional safety restriction, official road closure, or situation that makes the route impossible to operate may affect the service.
