Hotel Pickup in Cusco

Your Classic Sacred Valley Tour begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel or a previously coordinated meeting point in Cusco, generally between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Once the group is ready, you will leave the city by tourist transportation and begin the journey toward the Sacred Valley. Along the route, enjoy views of Andean mountains, agricultural areas, and traditional communities before reaching the first major archaeological destination of the day.

Pisac Archaeological Site

The first main visit is Pisac, one of the most impressive archaeological complexes in the Sacred Valley. Accompanied by your professional guide, explore extensive agricultural terraces built across the mountainside together with ceremonial areas, stone structures, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley. During the visit, you will learn about Inca agricultural techniques, architecture, engineering, and the historical importance of Pisac within the Sacred Valley.

Pisac Artisan Market

After exploring the archaeological complex, continue toward the town of Pisac for a visit to its traditional artisan market. Here you can browse locally produced textiles, jewelry, ceramics, decorative pieces, and other Andean handicrafts while experiencing another side of contemporary life in the Sacred Valley. Purchases are entirely optional, and you will have some time to walk around before continuing toward Urubamba.

Buffet Lunch in Urubamba

Around midday, the journey continues to Urubamba, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Here you will enjoy an included buffet lunch at a local restaurant, with a selection of Peruvian and international dishes. This is also an opportunity to rest before continuing with the afternoon archaeological visits.

Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site

After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most important archaeological and historic settlements in the Sacred Valley. Explore its monumental terraces, stone structures, ceremonial areas, and impressive construction while your guide explains the site’s military, religious, agricultural, and political importance during the Inca period. Ollantaytambo is also remarkable because the surrounding town continues to preserve original Inca streets, canals, and urban features, offering visitors a fascinating example of living history.

Chinchero – Culture & Textile Traditions

The final major stop is Chinchero, an Andean community known for its archaeological heritage and strong textile traditions. During the visit, discover the historical connection between Inca and colonial architecture and visit a local textile center, where artisans demonstrate traditional techniques for preparing wool, creating natural dyes, and producing colorful woven textiles. Chinchero provides a cultural conclusion to the day before beginning the return journey to Cusco.

Return to Cusco

After completing the visit to Chinchero, board the tourist transportation for the drive back to Cusco. Arrival is generally expected between approximately 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with final drop-off near the historic center. Timing may vary slightly according to traffic, group pace, and daily operating conditions.
