Detailed Itinerary – 7 Lakes of Ausangate Full Day Tour
Day 1: 7 Lagoons of Ausangate Full Day Tour
The 7 Lakes of Ausangate Full Day Tour begins very early in the morning with hotel pick-ups between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. from Cusco. During this time, we will collect all participants before starting our scenic journey toward the Ausangate region.
After leaving Cusco, we travel approximately three hours to the village of Pacchanta, located at the base of Ausangate Mountain. Along the way, we make two to three short stops so travelers can stretch their legs, use restrooms, and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Upon arrival in Pacchanta, we enjoy a hearty breakfast, and travelers may leave personal belongings in the vehicle, as our transport will remain waiting at this point. Pacchanta serves as both the starting and ending point of the hike.
From Pacchanta, we begin a moderate hike following a scenic trail that connects the seven glacial lakes of Ausangate, each featuring unique colors created by mineral-rich waters and surrounding glaciers. Throughout the hike, you will enjoy spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, wide valleys, and native Andean wildlife.
After completing the circuit, we return to Pacchanta for lunch, followed by free time to relax in the natural hot springs for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please note that if one participant enters the hot springs, the entire group must wait. In cases where two vehicles are available, transportation adjustments may be coordinated with the guides.
In the afternoon, we begin our return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
