Your Machu Picchu 2 Days by Car adventure begins early in the morning with check-in at our travel agency in Cusco between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. After coordinating the group and the final departure details, you will board the tourist vehicle and begin the overland journey toward Hidroelectrica.
Scenic Journey to Hidroelectrica
The road trip takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, crossing high-altitude Andean terrain before gradually descending toward warmer and greener landscapes.
Throughout the drive, the dramatic change in altitude creates constantly changing scenery, from mountain environments and deep valleys to cloud-forest vegetation and subtropical landscapes.
Short stops may be made along the route according to operating conditions before continuing toward Hidroelectrica.
Lunch at Hidroelectrica
Upon arrival at Hidroelectrica, you will have an included lunch at a local restaurant.
This is the main break before beginning the walking portion of the journey and provides time to rest, prepare your daypack, and make sure you have enough water for the hike.

Because you must later return to Hidroelectrica in time for the vehicle back to Cusco, we arrange a morning Machu Picchu visit compatible with the day’s return itinerary, subject to official ticket availability.

Bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
Your shuttle bus ticket from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu is included.
The ride takes approximately 25–30 minutes and climbs the mountain road toward the entrance of the archaeological sanctuary.
Travelers who prefer to walk rather than use the shuttle bus may request this option before the corresponding bus tickets are issued. Any applicable adjustment to the tour price must be coordinated in advance.
Guided Visit to Machu Picchu
At the entrance, meet your professional guide and begin an approximately 2 to 2½-hour guided visit of Machu Picchu.
During the experience, learn about the history, architecture, engineering, beliefs, and cultural importance of the Inca citadel while following the official circuit and route assigned to your entrance ticket.

The return hike takes approximately 3 hours, depending on your walking pace and conditions along the route.
It is essential to manage your time carefully.
All passengers must arrive at Hidroelectrica between approximately 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to meet the return transportation.
Hidroelectrica – Cusco
Once the group has assembled, board the tourist vehicle for the return journey to Cusco.
The drive generally takes around 6 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions. Arrival in Cusco is expected in the evening, marking the end of your Machu Picchu by Car 2 Days Tour.

Machu Picchu Circuit 2 is currently sold out through November. At the moment, availability for Circuit 2 remains only for selected dates in December.
